Sunday Outing

Woke up at 9am (the earliest I've ever woken up the past month), to go to the Camberwell Sunday Market. Basically, this market is like a huge garage sale, with every conceivable item being sold there. Antiques, collectibles, clothing, 2nd hand goods, furniture, random toys & trinkets, old books, coins, sewing machines, gramophone records(!), it's all there. Really not my kind of thing though (something Jeannie would prob appreciate), so i didn't find the market to be very interesting.

Oh, i did chance upon a very interesting book though among one of the boxes. Who remembers the children's book series, 'Where's Wally?' Well, someone very creative or perhaps in not so good taste created a spoof of the book entitled, "Where's bin Laden?' When i took this photo the seller commented, "Everyone is interested in this book, but no one wants to buy it." Hmm.. imagine buying this book for you kid. haha.
We had to quickly rush back at noon so that we could catch a bus to this yum cha restaurant called Tai Pan. Apparently, it is billed as one of the best yum cha places in Melbourne (supposedly even better than Shark Fin House). It's located in the suburb of Doncaster though, and the only means of getting there by public transport is a 30 min bus ride. I can't vouch for the claim of it being the best yum cha place, as i'm not fussy, and to me all decent food is palatable. hhaha. So yeah, don't ask me to be a critic and compare it to Shark Fin House, but suffice to say it was delicious and i left satiated with a very full stomach.

On the way back some of us decided to make full use of the Sunday Saver and went to Smith St as i was told that Nike was having a 40% sale. Unfortunately, only the back wall seemed to be on sale, and there was nothing on discount that was nice.
